Paula Deen’s “Ladies Brunch Burger:” She’s not joking

I have a new marketing idea for Paula Deen. I’m thinking that after she airs her recipes on her show, she could simultaneously submit them to The Onion.
Those fantastic satirists would surely appreciate the breakfast idea that Deen came up with yesterday. I am still marveling at the “Ladies Brunch Burger.”
This Deen creation consists of a hamburger, topped with a fried egg, and bacon, all served between two glazed donuts. She doesn’t recommend a side of cheesy fries or that you wash it all down with a chocolate shake, but why not?
You can’t decide which fatty, salty, sugary, thing to indulge in for breakfast? Don’t bother yourself with limits: have them all!
You can see a picture (and get the recipe!) here.
It was just mid-January when Deen announced that she will now be marketing for a diabetes medication company. Deen confessed that she’s had diabetes for three years. She said that she had been reluctant to come forward with that information until she felt like she had something helpful to say. As in, “Try this medication for your diabetes.” That and some good advice about her high-sugar, high-fat recipes:  Deen points out that she has always said that the key to good health is moderation.
Got that?

There are people in the world who make money, they are good at it. And, in their world, it doesnt' mattter what the side effects are, what their footprint will be. Ms. Dean has been great at this for a long time. There is some sense in hoping for her to change. There is more sense in hoping that her fans get her message, "Do as I say, get sick." Thank you for staying on this story, Anne. So many foodies, a good thing, and so many reasons to choose different models for our chef du jour.
